We are a nonprofit academic medical center, but we receive less than 5 percent of our total operating budget from the state of the South Carolina.

You help to fill in that remaining gap and provide us with the resources needed to fulfill our mission of cutting-edge research, compassionate patient care and world-class education. When you support MUSC, you contribute to South Carolina’s:

-largest source of doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals, which trains more than 3,000 students in six colleges each year.

-leading provider of lifesaving health-care services, including a nationally-recognized children’s hospital, an NCI-designated cancer center, a Level I trauma center, the state’s only transplant center and more than 100 outreach locations statewide.

-largest research university, with funding in excess of $250 million for groundbreaking initiatives.

We are a team of 13,000 teachers, researchers, caregivers and others, working together toward a common cause: Saving and improving the lives of the people we serve. And we are joined in this mission by thousands of people and organizations who have invested their own philanthropic resources to help make our vision of a healthier South Carolina a reality.
