MUSC Wellness Center
We all understand the toll cancer takes on families, friends, and communities. We’re here to change the story for our patients of today and tomorrow. Your support empowers more than 120 scientists and clinicians at Hollings Cancer Center to discover new treatments, preventative therapies, and diagnostic methods.
The details:
- Ride in a high-energy, 45-minute class led by cycling great George Hincapie and local instructors
- Join cancer survivors, researchers, new riders and experienced cyclists, clinical staff, and sponsors at this fun event
- Options of class times: 9:15 a.m. (led by George Martin), 10:15 a.m., 11:15 a.m., or 12:15 p.m. (led by Jim Shields)
- Each participant raises at least $500 or personally fund their ride
- Register as an individual or team of four or more
- Teams may ride in classes together or separately
- Teams are collectively responsible for raising $500 times the number of riders (example, a team of four must raise $2000)
- Fundraising ends December 10, with any unmet pledges billed to the rider at that time
- Event is great for first-time riders, road cyclists, or indoor cycling enthusiasts; anyone can ride!
- Honor those you know who've been affected by cancer, as we fight this disease together
Jerry Zucker was a visionary leader, entrepreneur, and fighter. He challenged us all to dream bigger and seek out-of-the-box solutions. In 2008, Jerry passed away following a courageous fight against brain cancer. In his memory, we challenge ourselves to support both our patients and our team at Hollings pursuing the most novel, lifesaving treatments.
