Jerry Zucker Ride for Hope FAQ

About the Ride

What is the Jerry Zucker Ride for Hope? It is an opportunity to actively fight against cancer during an indoor cycling class. Riders raise donations, $500 minimum per person, or personally donate by Dec. 10. 100% of donations are tax deductible and directly support cancer research.

When and where is the event? The classes are 45 minutes each at 9:15 a.m., 10:15 a.m., 11:15 a.m., and 12:15 p.m. at the MUSC Wellness Center, 45 Courtenay Drive Charleston, SC 29401. Individuals and teams may pick their preferred class time, based on availability, with team members riding together or separately.

I've registered, now what? You will receive an email with a personalized fundraising link and our fundraising toolkit. If you haven't received this email within two business days, please contact hccevents@musc.edu.

I have never ridden a stationary bike before, can I still participate? Absolutely! Just come ready to ride, and we'll show you the ropes.

Teams

How many bikes can I have for my team? Teams are groups of four or more riders. Each rider will have one spot in one class. Team members may all ride together or separately.

Can my team share the funds raised? Yes, each team has a minimum goal of $500 per person on the team. For example, a team of four would have a goal of $2000. Once the minimum is reached, regardless of who has raised the money, funds will be shared amongst the team.

Fundraising and Your Impact

Where does the money raised go? 100% of the money raised from the riders will support lifesaving cancer research at Hollings Cancer Center. Proceeds support the areas of greatest need and most promising research through our clinical scholars program such as research in: bladder, prostate, head and neck, lung, and breast cancers.

How much of the money I raise will be directed toward to the cause? 100% of each rider-raised dollar will go directly towards research at Hollings Cancer Center.

Can I designate my funds to a specific cancer research area? Unfortunately, we cannot allow you to specify which cancer area your funds support. We promise your money is spent wisely and in the best way possible to meet our most urgent needs.

Will I be responsible for any additional funds not raised? Yes, you will be invoiced the remaining amount. But don't worry, we will assist you every step of the way to help you meet your goal!

When does fundraising end? You have until Dec. 10 to meet your fundraising goal.
